Winter Flavors move into January

December 24, 2008
roof-top-party-433Catering during the Holiday’s is very rewarding for me. Besides cooking up wonderful meals with Ham, Turkey or Rabbit…Bing Cherry, Orange or Cranberry sauce…it gives me an opportunity to share my childhood flavors of yesterday with my almost grown up flavors of today with you. For example, we served up Black Figs with Vanilla Bean Goat Cheese, baked Filo wrapped Sweet Potato and Banana as well as roasted Pumpkin and Manchego Cheese Quesadillas with Chipotle…a little spicy but very tasty and perfect for a Winter California evening!
Here comes January…let’s all drink Chocolate Champagne!

Food and fun in the sun!

July 27, 2008
Let's dance!

Let's dance!

Silence is golden…the guests don’t say a word during dinner…smiles of pleasure fill the room!

From beginning to end there is a quest for desire within a meal.

My friends at Gilbert Plains are shooting an independent film entitled Summer Eleven. It’s the summer before starting middle school for four 11 year olds. Written by Joe Kell and directed by he and Valerie Mahaffey, we are honored to provide a special gourmet lunch experience for them and a wonderful cast and crew. Old favorites like soft shell crab with mushroom cream sherry, polenta gratin with mascarpone and b.b.q brisket alogside some steelhead salmon. It brings me pleasure to watch others enjoy what they do with so much passion and conviction just like myself and my crew!

Happy Birthday to Elisa…thanks for having us cater your party!

Here comes August and it’s almost Redd’s Birthday in September!

Flavors in June….

June 25, 2008

Well, we tried to make it a surprise 60th Birthday for Dr. Jon but he was on call and might not attend his own party so we had to tell him….King Salmon and grilled Portobello Mushrooms with Red Cabbage, Corn and Orange Peppers plus Zucchini wrapped Mascarpone Cheese and Baby Arugula, what a treat…!? My friend Jocelyn, at Options for Youth, has the perfect home for this wonderful Saturday brunch of family, friends and Sparkling Yellow Watermelon drink. My instant connection to earth is at your home.

Though I missed my friends at Erotica L.A this year, we had a wonderful time preparing and serving our tasty B.B.Q for another very well attended Los Feliz Village Streefair. Turkey Legs and Spare Ribs, Wild Rice and Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Cole Slaw were the stars of the show for us. Thanks again to everyone who came out and enjoyed food and music with us!

Cheers and Happy Birthday to Liz over at The New Post Group…

Also, best wishes and Happy 40th to my buddy Lowell over at the Dr. Group….your parties are the best!

What a hot month of Strawberries and Chocolate…..anytime is a great time for dessert!

See you soon….

Atwater Festival was a Hit!

May 18, 2008

With hot temperatures and no rain in sight, we served up the B.B.Q straight into the night. I never realized how hip the Atwater community really was. Hundreds and hundreds of people made it out to support music and arts for the local schools. There were many cool bands and different styles of vendors including ourselves serving up big juicy turkey legs, mouth watering corn and delicious spare ribs with my famous B.B.Q sauce. I would like to thank Danica from Sonic Muze for having us come out and participate in this wonderful celebration to help the children. It was a pleasure and we had a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed!
